ABOUT THE COUNSELOR
Sarah Willis has been supporting local families in breastfeeding and lactation since 2014, though she has been advocating socially for the use of human milk for as long as she can remember. With the birth of each daughter, Sarah was challenged with difficulties. She relied on the support of her local breastfeeding community and lactation consultants, and -- with their help -- she was able to successfully meet her goals and beyond. It has become her mission to offer education and encouragement to families using evidence-based information so that each parent might achieve the best possible outcome. Sarah has been a nurse since 2010, but she found her passion in pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum in 2015 when she became an LDRP nurse at a rural hospital in Tennessee. Since then, she has immersed herself in obstetrics and breastfeeding textbooks and journals, ensuring that she is using the most updated evidence to guide her performance. Sarah obtained her certification as a lactation counselor in July 2017 and became certified as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in December 2018.
